I had a salesperson recently trying to describe the merits of a silver vs. gold bauble. Not caring I told him that either or would do nicely. Or/ore? Obtuse granted but I’m rather fond of that joke.
It has been WAY too long, my friends! Today, however, is the auspicious one year anniversary of this humble drivel emporium and how could I ignore such a milstone! While other projects have taken interest of late this site continues to be my favorite outlet that I should really be treating as more of a power-bar as opposed to the single sparking socket to which it has been unjustly relegated. It is my fervent desire to visit more often but if you asked my family and friends you would know my track record is somewhat lackluster in regard to such assertions…
During my long absence I HAVE had an opportunity to restock the poetry arsenal. The past year having been a kind of drawn out literary demilitarization of my existing stores. Below is but one and it’s not even particularly long, deal with it! 🙂

It’s far to simple to lose touch
To our most vital senses such
That one can’t find the way back home
So lost and cold endlessly roam
The Outlands of some proper mind
With pavement dusty and unsigned
Until fine figure stretches out
And disconnects the plug for doubt
Resets the router in your head
Revives lost ardor long thought fled.
I AM this poem. I hadn’t written for some time when it was crafted and you can see that in the extremely simplistic rhymes primarily using lazy morphisms. There is a habit I have of getting a bit down on myself every once in a while and I am endlessly grateful to those who can assist in troubleshooting this glitchy upstairs computer.
Thank you so insanely much for your continued support and I wish you nothing but the absolute top-notch best in return! Here’s to many more years of Dread Poets Sobriety!
Happy Trails and Waggy Tales,
Alexander Blaikie
