Mourning After

Greetings and good day to all! It is, as always, a pleasure to steal a few precious moments to communicate directly to my people! A very brief update and a generally brief poem do I have for you today.

Firstly, the reason for my absence translates primarily to submitting poetry to publishers, working on a fiction novel and ghostwriting articles and such for faceless entities. I’m hoping to make a move sometime soon into living purely based upon an intellectual income though we shall see whether such a plan materializes as desired. Que sera sera, no?

Today’s piece is not about Halloween, (Happy Halloween!), but it was terrifying at the time. O, I’m sorry, did you want some context? Pfft.

Mourning After, October 25, 2019.

Knuckle under

Buckle sunder

Excite wonder

Immense pain

A soul to squeeze

Disparate ease

Momentum freeze

Does not wain

Lesson to learn

Forever yearn

Senselessly spurn

None are sane

Progress so slowed

Figure is bowed

Derelict ode

Endless chain

I’ll offer one clue, it’s not about the (over)consumption of alcohol. That lesson at least came to pass many moons prior.

Please excuse me, I’m to the dreaded “work” now. One of these days that will mean remaining here in front of my computer. And also with you.

Happy trails and waggy tales y’all!

  1. I’m not so fond of your poems but I really love the way you start grabbing the audience attention. With little greetings or anything polite, intrusive lines. Love it!
