The Tell Tale Fart

Hello again, my friends and wonderful readers! It is a blessing indeed to have time to once again regale you with our quasi-demented tales (tails?) of gratitude and woe. What a combo, should at least come with fries or something…

Today’s piece is a bit of a joke, thought exercise, game, puzzle and a few other things. Mostly it was, “Can I find the optimal rhyme within my degrading skull which also satisfied the arbitrary rhythm? Another delicious combo, still no fries though. I may need a snack here.

…two hand fulls of cashews later..

So, to summarize, weird poem, cashews are the king of nuts, please don’t @ me regarding your or an associate’s testicles. I believe that is the purpose of Grindr. Enjoy!

“Running Up That Hill”, Jan. 17, 2024.

Unsolved mystery

Guilt unwound

Tainted history

Form renowned

Branded penitence

Trussed within

Forceful recompense

Crude chagrin

Binding attrition

Shall imbue

Solemn munition

To accrue

Peaceful erosion

Tears distinct

Implored implosion

Still succinct

Fortune censuring

Slick below

Further venturing

Fast while slow.

There are a few lines in there I’m quite fond of though the piece in entirety is mostly casual detritus from the aforementioned demented mind.

“How, then, am I mad? Hearken! and observe how healthily—how calmly I can tell you the whole story.”
― Edgar Allen Poe, The Tell Tale Heart

Many discovered the song, “Running Up That Hill”, due to Stranger Things season 4. Side note, Kate Bush is a legend. However, I had also never heard of her before that moment in time but was instead extremely familiar with the now self-recognized as in fact a cover of the song by Placebo. An old favourite late 90’s early 2000’s alt-rock(?) group. Pure Morning was their biggest hit. “A friend in need’s a friend indeed, a friend with weed is better”… classic, though I can no longer ethically endorse the sentiment. AAAnyway, their cover of R.U.T.H. was so fantastic I always assumed it to be original. Alas. And it was a lass, indeed Ms. Bush.

I think that’s all for me. The divine Catherine the Great (my dog, not the empress) has some minor ailments for which I’ll be home and stationary more often. A grand opportunity to recapture some of this site’s former glory. When I’m not diligently preventing her from removing her cone. Safe to say she is not a fan. She is definitely a dog.

Thank you so much for reading, visiting and, (hopefully), enjoying the base antics. I sincerely appreciate all the wonderful feedback and general positive responses to the previous post by the way. Thank you all. Y’all are amazing!
