Tire Pyre

Good day, faithful readers! You are dearly appreciated and welcome, as always! Going to be a quick one here, just blasted through 5 lessons of the advanced Excel course I’m taking and my eyes hurt. The things we do for a silly piece of paper or a couple/ few letters.

I did want to take a quick moment to address something. I’ve had a few people on my ass for not commenting about Palestine and Israel. Funny, nobody ever cared when it was Ukraine and Russia. Regardless, these are global issues well outside my locus of anything let alone control. It is increasingly difficult to source accurate or god help us unbiased media and sorting through all the lies, obfuscation, clickbaiting, rage posting, bias and on and on and on is unsustainable. I care deeply about the loss of life through preventable tragedies, most notably war. I’ve lost sleep, appetite and very much peace of mind overthinking these horrifying situations. And for the record, I am not Palestinian, Israeli, Jewish or Muslim, I have zero personal connection to these events, but my empathy is (perhaps too) strong and I often am unable to banish such thoughts when willed. So please do not message me or comment that I shouldn’t write until addressing the bombs being dropped on children for which we are helping pay. I am WELL aware. This page has rarely delved into political matters though if you read consistently it’s fairly clear where I stand on most issues. We will leave it at that, thank you.

I forgot I wanted to address that and it’s rather taken the wind out of my sails, so here’s a poem. Enjoy, don’t enjoy, send me death threats to make yourself feel better about whatever bullshit you choose to pass on to others. After all the lessons (Excel not life), ((maybe life too)), frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.

Pyre (Jan 19/24)

Perplexingly distant face

With penetrating stare

Piercing harshly time and space

Fixed to despotic glare

Facing down universes

Bluffing and poorly so

Resistance intersperses

Another failing throw

Eye to eye across vast scape

Neither concedes a blink

Perplexing unwinding shape

Faster than one could think

Now consumed the other turns

And shifts aside its gaze

With victory winner burns

In awe-inspiring blaze.

Let’s leave it there for today, eh folks?

Thank you so very much for reading and being a member of this little community. You are sincerely appreciated!

Happy Trails and Waggy Tales!

  1. I just don’t get people who aggressively demand others have a duty and obligation to speak on things/events, outside of those leading states and country(ies). Society does not need outside influence; they need to feel and think for themselves. Plus, it is always, “Speak on this or that matter, but your views are only valid if you feel and see things the way *I* do.” Which means they don’t really value what people have to say or how they feel. Current society seems to think public figures, again outside of leader and politicians, have a responsibility to voice their views and opinions (if it agrees with those demanding it) just because they have a lot of fans who can’t seem to form opinions of their own. I apologize for the lengthy commentary, but I see this so much on IG and Reddit and it really irks me!

    1. Hello Cari, thank you so much for your supportive and sage comment. Not to mention reading in general! Your points are extremely valid and well articulated. Thank you again for visiting and I wish you the grandest of days!

  2. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, AND on deciding to voice said opinion, or not. To even have an “informed” opinion is almost impossible because of all the misinformation, cherry-picking, propaganda, and outright lies the media churns out. It’s a circus out there.

    Nice poem. 🙂
