Waltzing Algebra

Good day, dear readers. For once I haven’t much to say so we can cut to the chase.

Today our poem was crafted initially as an exercise that became a challenge and finally a piece of which I’ve become increasingly fond. You know, over the course of the week since it’s been written. Romeo and Juliet occurs entirely over a 5-day period and we’ve no poison so it’ll probably work out fine. Though the dog DID accidentally bite my thumb while force-feeding her medicine earlier…

Anyway, the piece’s structure is arbitrary but strangely musical. Three syllables three times and then a one, hence the title. If you’re so inclined, it’s a word dance, 1,2,3-1,2,3-1,2,3-1 and repeat. Enjoy! If you get it just right say hello to the eudaemon for me! Don’t worry, solid dude.

“Three Cubed Fo(u)r One” Feb. 24, 2024.

Rapidly implanting intrusive thought

Perfectly engenders clamorous naught

Purported emptiness intrinsic tear

Distances terminate insipid faire

Intensely aggravates appalling fate

Seemingly fortitude’s diminished rate

Forever determined preordained rule

Solitude’s restraining acerbic school.

Did you stumble? I did. It’s fun to let them roll in your head or even out loud. Also, I rather enjoy the concept of a word dance. I just googled and it already exists and extensively so. Still neat. From now on I’m dancing with my words. Lord knows it’s better than my regular dancing. I can make the “white-man two-step” appear even more awkward and jilted than it already is. Can a dance be jilted? I defer to the precedent of word-mongering, wherein if you can mong a fish you can mong a word. Here, if you can word a dance why not jilt it too? And no, I can dodge neither a wrench nor a ball.

I think we call it here. The preceding paragraph(s) feel as though it may be used as evidence in some future involuntary commitment hearing. No reason to provide further documentation. Thank you so very much for reading and please enjoy a day of casual whimsy and fanciful satisfaction.

Happy Trails and Waggy Tails!

  1. I drummed my fingers while reading it. Very lovely. I’m going with wordmonger. Thanks for the word!

  2. I missed reading this one. I just saw it (again). Some of this really resonates with me about, enforced isolation. We are under indeterminate house arrest. Our shackles & ankle monitors just don’t show ??

Better weather is ahead & that means outside time for all involved ?? That alone makes me smile! I’ve done some gardening. Di asked if there was something she could do, my answer ” Nothing I’m willing to share’ ?? Any day I can work in the garden is a good day!
